Devon is gone...

Quite disappointed with the MasterChef tonight not cause of the elimination but the short show.. It's only last for 30 minutes and yet there's at least 2 to 3 advertisements in that half an hour show..

By the way, I heard that some of them said that the show is not fair but I might not agree about that is according to the experience and their skills.. I never saw someone able to whisk the egg white that fast ! Well, quite lots of people sad as Devon is leaving as there are heaps of people doesn't like Jonathan ! They wan him out but unfortunately he won and he cries like a baby ! Shameful ! !

Jonathan VS Devon

Jonathan will be compete with Devon tomorrow night in MasterChef to avoid be the 1st to leave MasterChef Kitchen !

 Jonathan Daddia

Age: 33
Home Town: Sydney, NSW
Marital Status: Married
Cooking Style: French Moroccan

Biography

Even for a diehard sweet tooth, Jonathan surprised himself with just how far he could go to create the perfect ice cream dessert during a trip to Italy a few years ago.
“I lived in London for a while and did a trip to Milan, where I didn’t buy anything you should like clothes, leaving there instead with an ice cream machine,” he says. “It was quite an effort stuffing that in my suitcase! I really was on a mission to make the perfect ice cream and I have experimented a lot with it, even using savoury flavours.”
Jonathan’s hunger for cooking developed while he was living in London when he was 22-years-old. After growing up on a diet of fairly simple meals, he relished the chance to experiment.
“I discovered how great cooking was and that I had a creative side,” explains Jonathan, who married his wife Mandy during the filming of the Top 50 episodes. “My dad is Moroccan so I started to look towards that style of cooking and asked him about different flavours and dishes.
“The first major meal I cooked was for a group of friends in London, and it was a huge Moroccan banquet. There were piles of couscous, piles of tagine, Moroccan desserts and dips. The kitchen was a bomb site but it really was a defining moment for me.”
It didn’t take him long to infuse his Moroccan heritage with his love of all things French.
“I trained myself, trying to capture the classic French style of cooking and then blend it with the Moroccan style,” says Jonathan, who spent a year in Bordeaux, France, to study the language.
What started as an interest in food is now an obsession. He dreams of one day working as a fine dining chef and names Gordon Ramsay as his favourite chef. In fact, he’s such a fan of the Michelin Star chef that when he ate at his London restaurant Petrus a few years ago, he was so in awe of the food that he rang up the following day and asked for a job as a trainee chef.
“The food was just mind blowing,” he says. “I thought I’d give them a call, and I said that I noticed they trained chefs of all levels. They asked me what level I was at and I told them that I wasn’t a chef and that I hadn’t worked in a kitchen.”
Despite being knocked back for a full time job, Jonathan was persistent and asked for some unpaid work experience in the kitchen.
“I went into the kitchen for a few Saturdays and it was fantastic,” says Jonathan, who moved back to Australia shortly after his experience. Now, he’ll have his dishes judged by the MasterChef Australia judges, but Jonathan isn’t daunted.

Devon Headland

Age: 30
Home Town: Originally from Auckland, New Zealand and now lives on the Gold Coast, Qld
Marital Status: Engaged
Cooking Style: Hearty country

Biography

Devon is more emotionally invested in winning MasterChef Australia than most, given that he postponed his wedding to his childhood sweetheart to take part in the series.
“We’ve been engaged for a couple of years,” says Devon of his fiancée Catherine. “Our wedding was booked for February, which was when filming was happening, so we’ve had to postpone it. That was a really hard decision. Catherine had been planning our dream day, friends were going to travel from overseas and we’d progressed on a lot of the details. But Cat was very understanding that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and we’ll reschedule the wedding.”
Devon grew up in Auckland and met Catherine, who is a nurse, when he was 15-years-old at a party, with the carpenter saying “it was love at first sight”. After several years living in New Zealand and a stint in London, the couple has lived in Queensland for nearly three years.
The other true love in his life has been food. He and younger brother Blake and older brother Conrad have big appetites and he fondly remembers how his grandmother inspired him to cook, and reminisces at the thought of afternoons spent in his grandma’s kitchen watching her cook old favourites like roasts and carrot cakes.
“When I was a teenager I had a part time job as a kitchen hand in a restaurant, where I was mainly washing dishes,” he says. “During school I was offered a building apprenticeship, which was great because I was good with my hands and couldn’t see myself finishing school.
“At the same time I was offered a chef apprenticeship but I was young and didn’t think I could handle the rough hours of working in a kitchen, so I took the building apprenticeship.”
Close to 15 years has passed, but Devon’s interest in cooking has never waned, and he dreams of one day opening his own restaurant. He has even lived in the food capital of the world, France, where he indulged his love of fine wines.
“I went to Alsace for six months when I was in my 20s and worked through a wine harvest,” he says. “Learning how to make wine was fantastic. But it was a bit of a hazy blur to be honest!”
Devon hopes his time on MasterChef Australia will be anything but a blur, and is hopeful that he can win over the judges with his country rustic cooking.

My night

Recently I am really addicted to the MasterChef Australia and been stick my eyes to the TV 730 every night to watch it ! Tonight they are separate into 2 teams and managing the Italian Restaurant and compete for the highest income for 2 and half hours servicing ! I am so disappointed with Alvin who choose Adele to be the head chef in stead of himself !! In my point of view, Blue team lose cause of they collect the money too late! Anyway, Alvin is still thru and Jonathan and Devon will be facing elimination ! Let's see who will be eliminate tomorrow !

Well, been chatting with 某人 for quite a long time and knows some story from 某人.. and all this while I heard quite a lots of story about guys ! and there's only a word to describe man ! haha.. 贝戈戈!

男人都是贱的!!但不包括我。。哈哈

Biography

Alvin Quah

Age: 35
Home town: Sydney, NSW
Marital Status: In a relationship
Cooking style: Asian

Excitable, affable and unfailingly enthusiastic, Alvin is poles apart from the stereotype of a science expert. After numerous years studying, and with a pharmaceutical career behind him, Alvin says that MasterChef Australia has finally given him the opportunity to do something for himself.

"I did well at school because I was scared of being nobody," Alvin says. "I did a science degree but underpinning it all was my passion for cooking. I've been busy chasing what people want me to chase and putting what I want into the background. It's bizarre but growing up I had it instilled in me that you're either a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer or nobody!"
With a Malaysian background, Alvin moved to Australia in his late teens to study at Melbourne University, and says that his cooking is influenced by his heritage.
"My mum is my inspiration,” says Alvin, who grew up in a Buddhist household. “I used to hang around the kitchen watching her as a child. She would never use measurements, her cooking was instinctive".
But there is one ingredient that Alvin hasn’t mastered cooking with yet.
"My weakness is dealing with red meat and in particular beef,” he admits. “Every time I cook a steak it's either over or undercooked, and so I just refuse to cook it now."
Having won a place in the Top 24, Alvin is certain that he can't go back to his old desk job. "I'd be really worried about going back to my old job, sitting in front of the computer feeling suffocated and stifled after so many opportunities to be myself and express my creativity."
A MasterChef Australia fan from last year, there is one judge, and one previous contestant that Alvin is desperate to meet.
"For me, Matt Preston is the yardstick,” he smiles. “There is something knowledgeable and scary about him at the same time. When he says something’s great, it lifts you. I'll be hanging on his every word!
"And I definitely want to meet Poh. I love her! She cooked a lot of things last year that I can identify with and she is just an amazing person. I even named a plant after her at home!"

Just watched the movie 7天爱上你 and quite enjoying that..
Love the way they travel around.
Hoping that one day I will have the chance to travel around no matter in one place or all over the world..

I love to hide under my quilt rather than kicking my quilt away in the midnight
I love to put more clothes on rather than taking more clothes away
I love to giggling cause of the coldness rather than sweating like hell cause of the hotness

Anzac Day

It's Anzac Day and yes I am working today ! Got 2.5 paid !
For those not staying at Australia might be wondering what the heck is the Anzac day..
Well , I will explain it in brief. It's the Public Holiday of OZ and NZ which falling on 25 April every year to honour members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I but now it's more broadly commemorates all those who died and served in military operations for their countries.
Been quite busy for first one and two hours due to the store is only open from 1pm and when I reached there, there's lots of people outside the store waiting, despite for the store, the Centro is open at 1pm as well and that result in lots of people like hanging outside there..

Quite happy and thanks God that I managed get off from the register after 3 hours working and asked to do the stocking stuff.. After the refurbishment of the store started, they changed everything in different aisle and now we are all confused with what at where.. The customers are like keep on looking for staff to ask for help of the place their shopping list item located. It's a mess and none of the staff able to remember lots of location despite of those senior or long hour working staff..

facebook and msn is getting so quiet this 2 days due to all of them went to the Church Camp at Rawson Village.. But I strongly believe that tomorrow will be back to normal and there will be lots of photo posting on the facebook ! Looking forward for that and hope all of them enjoy God's word in the camp..
May God's work done on them and more healthier church will be form after they back for the camp as the topic is 健康教会与我..

Top 24 of the MasterChef are all out tonight and I am happy that Alvin , the only asian is in ! He is Malaysian too ! Woohooo.. Beside that, Callum, whom I starting to support today is getting in too.. He is a student and yet he is quite good and creative in cooking.. Sadly that Mark is not getting through to the top 24 although he got the best praise and comments from the judges tonight on the last dishes, Curry Fish with handmade noodles and snow peas..
I love George, one of the MasterChef judge as he is really good and encouraging.. I like his style..

And ! Guess what I got as dinner for tonight ? The Bubba Pizza

Got 2 housemates moved in last Wednesday which only will last for a week, they are good and friendly.. Happy to stay with them just they are quite 客气.. haha.. They will be leaving on this coming Wednesday and leaving to Brisbane as Stanley needs to get back to work and his wife Adeline will moved over and stay with him..

Random Update

It's friday night ! and yes ! I back from my work and now going to have a nice Saturday tomorrow.. Sadly there will be no fellowship tomorrow night as most of them are going to the camp..
So.. Free Saturday .. Nothing to do and probably will get onto my studies?

Saw a fan's page at the facebook recently about "as a checkout chick , it is not my job to empty your basket"
and YES ! I am STRONGLY agree with that statement as there's a lots of customer are just putting the basket there and stand there like a boss waiting for us to do everything for them even help them to swipe their eft card of credit card..
Wondering how come they are such a lazy bastard and never empty their basket on their own even they saw someone in front of them do so...
I faced once that there are continuously 4 customers who aren't empty the basket on their own and leave it on the convener  belt and even when I helped them to empty those things out, they are still standing there looking at me and wait for that to be done.. After that they don't even help to put the basket back to the floor and leave it there which cause my work station is full with the basket..
How come there's so many people who never willing to do all this work on their own and gotta need others to do it for them ?

And how come they never know that they have to swipe their card on their own ? not handing it to us ? We willing to help if you are not able to get it thru but pls.. try before asking others to do it for you, it wasn't something that proud of using Amex Platinum while you are not able to swipe on your own...

But there's something happy to talk about is there's more and more people are willing to try on the self check out instead of going to the register but honestly there's still quite number of people are not willing to try that and owes willing to wait in a longer queue for their payment done..

my days..

Been spending whole morning in Uni to revise the maths on the Fourier Series and Laplace Transforms..
Been very tired and stress during that and guess what ? I am not doing well in the test and yet not enough time to finish it at all.. 1 question are left out and some of them are roughly write some formula and equation on it..
I am sure it won't coming out with a nice or good result, just hoping will be passing that test..
I went to the solidwork class after the test and one of my friends said.. "Hey mate, you look so tired.."
Yes, indeed I am and brain is not working after revise and keep looking at those maths equation and stupid series.. There might be some of them loving all this maths but seriously I hate it!

Watched the MasterChef tonight and really impressed with their cooking skills and everything..
The judges are giving positive energy too.. They point out the weakness of the contestant and praise their good one.. Unlike some others show that keep criticize and insult people skill.. Love the MasterChef as I love to cook too ! though I don't cook well.. Haha..

Busy tidying and rearrange the room tonight as there will be someone coming in tomorrow night..Gonna rearrange the room as they will be couple moving in..

Day gone once again and it's almost time for midnight blogger to sleep.. Cheers !
Thanks God for everything that happened in the day..
Pray for all those who having difficulties and stress on studies and work !

Should I ? ?

Thinking of getting an DSLR camera but unfortunately there's no money for it..
Now there's a chance for me to get lower price DSLR from U.S.A but thinking that if I got it from U.S.A , there will be no international warranty for me ..
Besides that, thinking of 3 different camera but wondering which one should I get it..

Nikon D90 ?

Canon EOS 500D ?

or Canon EOS 550D ??

Price difference between 500D n 550D is around AUD 100..
If I am not able to get the international warranty , probably I will not get the camera as the price in Australia is much more higher than U.S.A. ! haha..
